Black Sewing Network Partners with Chicago Sews for Mend-A-Thon

Black Sewing Network is proud to announce a new partnership with Chicago Sews for their very first community service event — the Mend-A-Thon. This initiative is part of Black Sewing Network’s Nationwide Charitable Sewing Day, uniting sewists across the country to repair and restore well-loved clothing while promoting sustainability and community connection.

A Global Day of Service

The Chicago Mend-A-Thon is part of a larger Black Sewing Network Day of Service, taking place on the same day in six U.S. cities and additional locations around the world. On November 15, sewists everywhere will gather to give back through the art of sewing — repairing, creating, and sharing skills that uplift their communities. By collaborating with Chicago Sews, Black Sewing Network is helping to make this global day of service a reality. Each stitch made in Skokie will join countless others across the nation, weaving together a movement of sustainability, creativity, and care.
