We are honored to feature South Florida Frocktails, alongside So-Flo Connect and So-Flo Sews, as our official Miami–Fort Lauderdale host team for the Black Sewing Network International Day of Service.
These leaders have been intentionally cultivating a stronger sewing community in South Florida, creating more opportunities for local sewists to connect, collaborate, and show up together. Their Day of Service activation reflects both commitment and community power.
Day of Service Purpose
The South Florida sewing community will be:
- Sewing wet bags for the PASHI Period Project
- Supporting menstrual equity and dignity for girls and families
- Participating in a coordinated national sewing initiative
- Demonstrating how local makers can drive global impact through sewing
Beyond Service: A Full Day of Sewing
In addition to their Day of Service hours, the South Florida team is extending the gathering into a full-day sew. This format offers space for both community impact and personal creativity.
Participants are welcome to:
- Bring sewing machines, tools, and supplies
- Work on personal projects
- Bring WIPs (works-in-progress)
- Connect with fellow makers in real time
- Build skill, inspiration, and community
This structure supports both giving and growth — a reminder that service and creativity can coexist and strengthen one another.
